Why Families Choose Thrive’s Private Teacher Placements?

Common questions families ask?

What qualifications do your tutors have?

Most of our tutors have at least a Master’s Degree in teaching/education or in their specific content field, and most of our tutors have been teaching for 5 years or more.

All of our tutoring is in-person. We come to you whether that’s your home, your child’s school, or a nearby library. It’s face-to-face, consistent, and personal.

Many families notice a difference like reduced stress or improved focus within a few sessions. Academic gains can vary, but we aim for steady, lasting progress that builds week by week.

We check in regularly to make sure things feel right. If they don’t, we’ll make a change quickly and thoughtfully. No awkwardness, no hassle, just the right match.

Absolutely. Our tutors are familiar with both public and private school expectations, and tailor sessions to align with your child’s current coursework and classroom goals.

Very. We work around your family’s schedule mornings, evenings, weekends, even travel days. There are no contracts or minimums, just the support you need, when you need it.

What is Private Teacher Placement?

Private Teacher Placement is a service for families seeking a dedicated, full-time or part-time educator to support in-home education. Thrive recruits, vets, and helps place experienced professional teachers, then supports onboarding and long-term success.

Tutoring supports a student alongside school, and tutors are hourly contractors. Private Teacher Placement provides a full-time or part-time dedicated educator who designs and delivers a student’s core academic program—usually replacing traditional schooling.

This model works well for families pursuing homeschool or hybrid education, children who need a highly individualized learning environment, gifted learners, students with learning differences, or families seeking more flexibility than traditional school allows.

This depends on the management tier you choose. Some families serve as the employer of record, while others prefer Thrive to manage employment, payroll, and compliance. We walk families through the options and help determine the best fit.

Most placements take 8-10 weeks, depending on role complexity, schedule, location, and compensation range. Highly specialized placements may take longer. Ultimately, our number one goal is finding the perfect fit, even if it takes a bit longer than the average placement time. For us, fit is everything!

Yes. Families review curated candidate profiles and interview top candidates before moving forward with a hire. Trial weeks are strongly encouraged prior to a long-term commitment.

Yes, families may opt into ongoing educational management, which can include progress monitoring, curriculum planning support, teacher coaching, and regular family check-ins.

Most private teachers are certified educators with classroom experience, advanced degrees, or specialized expertise (e.g., learning differences, structured literacy certification, gifted education, or project-based learning).

Yes. Many families hire one private teacher to work with siblings.

There is no one-size-fits-all model. Programs are designed collaboratively and may include core academics, enrichment, experiential learning, fieldwork, and flexible scheduling.
